Default 1ZR vs 3ZR packages

Seems like this is a very expensive package. Is it worth it? If I add PDR and navigation separately I save about 7k.

Go to the GM web site and compare. A Lot more to the 3ZR.
Spending that much not going to skimp on options.

What you would be giving up for $7K would be the leather wrapped interior, heated and ventilated seats, power side bolsters and lumbar on both sides, presets memory, carbon fiber steering wheel, carbon fiber instrument trim, curb view camera.

Although these items are creature features and aesthetics, upon future resell buyers will most likely desire these items, thus making your car more marketable and valuable.

Net-net, it's your hard earned cash... perhaps pony up the $7K, enjoy these creature features and aesthetics now and be in a better position in the future.

Either way you can't go wrong... The Z is a monster.

Just my opinion but if you're dropping that kind of coin, gotta go with 3ZR. Additionally, if the C6 ZR1 is any kind of gauge, the 1ZR will be a lot harder to sell when it's time for a change.

Can you clarify though if you get comp seats all those features dont really apply? Heated/cooled feature, side bolsters etc. Because if thats true, its waste of money to spend $7k just for more leather

I agree with others that the 3ZR is the way to go. I just picked up a one owner 6800 mile 2016 3LZ A8 Z06 in exactly the colors I would order ( Laguna Blue/Kalahari chrome wheels yellow calipers etc ). If it were anything but a 3LZ, I wouldn't be interested. In about 2 yrs, I'll start looking for a 2yr old one owner low mileage ZR1 3ZR equipped just the way I would order one. Yes, one has to be patient to find exactly what you want and you have to move rapidly when you find it. Most used buyers want all the goodies included, not a bare bones 1ZR in this example.

I got the 3lz on my z06. Now I've taken the seats out and put in better seats and a harness bar with 6 point belts. When. I guess if, I get a zr1 I will probably do the same thing. For me it hasn't been worth it. If I get the zr1 I don't think the package will get me an extra 7,000 at resale. That's the reason I wouldn't get it. If it's something you will be happier with go for it. IF it's not worth it right now it never will be.

If you have the money you might as well got for it. I've found I can live without all the bells and whistles so a 1ZR works for me. In my case it would be a 3rd vehicle driven only seasonally so my other cars have all the gizmos.

Comp seats are a separate option to both trims, 1ZR or 3ZR. They are only included in the SODP.

How much is it worth to you? If you personally have zero desire for any of those added options, then obviously spending the extra 7k makes no sense. But if all those features are worth... say... 2-3k to you, then I'd wager you'd end up getting around 4k return when it comes time to sell. Depending on when of course. 3ZR looks so much better than 1ZR in resale.

I dont think I m doing a good job explaining my question

I have been to the chevy site millions of times and built the car and read all the information there. My question is specific to competition seats. It's a $2000 option which basically replaces the standard seats with bucket seats.

Historically, in other car manufacturers, such as Porsche or Ford (Shelby GT350), seats like these are very lightweight and some don't even have memory functions let alone heating or cooling. So my question is, of this $10,000 of the package, the only feature that is really worth money is the heated/cooled seats (considering you can separately order the navigation and PDR), so does the competition seat option DELETE the heating/cooling/memory features of the seats? I doubt that those very lightweight seats will have these options?

Because if you are not getting the heated/cooled/memory seats, then you are wasting large chunk of that $10,000 on just leather dash, nothing else.

Hope it's clear now

Default 1zr

I can only tell you through experience 75 corvettes that the less options you have and the lower the price easier it is to sell. I have had a lot of experience through the Years.
With that being said I always order every option and complain at selling time.

1ZR = Driver

3ZR = Cruise-in/Car Show/Waxer

FWIW, which I realize isn't much, in performance cars I always buy the base car and add minimal options. Current car is 17 C7Z 1LZ with just PDR/Nav, black mirrors and wheels. If it matters I could afford the 3ZR/3LZ but the extra "stuff" doesn't interest me.

Mine is a driver/track car and I've never missed any of the 3ZR/3LZ options.

Interesting how many folks don't know what they want to buy based upon their planned usage. Not sure why anyone else's opinion on options would influence how someone orders/buys a vehicle.

I just ordered a new Jeep JL Wrangler and never even thought about soliciting input on whether I should buy a Sport S, Sahara or Rubicon. I know how the vehicle is going to be used, not someone I don't know on the internet.

Reminds me of the Porsche salesman who just could not believe I ordered a GT3 with the Sport Chrono package as the ONLY option. He didn't know how to deal with it.. He humored me when he stated, "That's not how it's done, that's not how it works, that's not how people order Porsche's". He found out he was wrong. Funny ****.

I guess some would consider me as an *** as I don't really care what other people think when it comes to spending my money.

Rick

3Z, don't track my cars cause I am old, and don't keep them long, found over the years the loaded ones were easier to sell.

OP. Are you asking if you order the comp seats in a 1ZR or 3ZR are they the same?

Or does a 1ZR with Comp Seats have heating and cooling side and back bolster adjustment etc like the 3ZR comp seats do?

Good question.

i am asking if the comp seats are same between 1ZR and 3ZR. I m not sure comp seats have those luxury features due to added weight in 3ZR.
