Default No start, no crank!

Hello forum, i have a 2014 z51 manual with 23,000 manual. I bought it from copart and rebuilt the front frame, i had to take out the motor and put it back in. I have doubke and triple checked grounds and fuses they all seem ok. "Everything" else works fine, lights, ac, radio, ect... but i have no crank at all when pressing the clutch...if anyone might have some tips on what could be wrong with it thnx in advance. Am not sure how i can post a vid.

Do you get a click or anything? Do you have 12V at the starter?

To verify the clutch switch - if the clutch is not (detected) depressed, you get a message something like "Depress Clutch to Start." So - if you don't get this message the clutch position switch is probably OK. If you get the message, start with the clutch.

How long was the car totally down on you. Being a 2014 the batt may have gone out on you. Try jumping it off see what happens. My 2014 was good one day then two days later same thing out of it & that was only about one month ago. Robert

No 12v on the starter or any clicks, it is not detecting the clutch since it gives me the message to "press clutch to start" it just goes to Accessory mode. It was down for over a year but i just installed a new battery on it. I have been thinking it has to do something with the clutch, tomorrow ill get back on it and see if i find anything wrong with the clutch.

Sounds like a sensor issue.

As with the previous poster, my first guess would be clutch switch or associated wiring.

Good luck.

You probably need to relearn the clutch position sensor like this guy had to do on a C6

I think there should still be 12 V at the starter if all fuses are good. Check each side of the big fuses on top of the battery positive post.

Clutch sensor. Its there so you can't start it while in gear and lurch forward into a wall or something.

I replaced the clutch sensor, but still not cranking. I was thinking the "neutral safety switch" was the one to keep the car starting in gear? The clutch and neutral safety sensor the same one??

You can start a manual in any gear as long as the clutch is pressed. So manual - clutch switch, automatic - neutral switch.

Looks like you have a bunch of stuff damaged, not plugged in, or wiring harness issues:

Search the codes:

B0158 O2 Sensor
B1325 Door Ajar Lamp Circuit Short To Battery
B3622 Excessive air inflow
U0140 Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Out of Self Test Range
U0151 VCT solenoid
U0150 Evaporative emissions systems test
U2098 Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Out of Self Test Range

Where did you find the descriptions for the codes? The code reader wasnt mine and i didnt write down the descriptions (mistake) but i remember u0140 was lost comm with bcm, i serched it and thats what comes up as. Besides that, i remember one was for hvac, steering, airbag, lost comm lin bus 1, ambient temperature sensor. Anyway ill be getting the wiring diagrams from acdelco so i can check everything more thoroughly. I work all weekend so i probably wont get to do anything till monday or Tuesday. I read somewhere in the forums that the car might not start if its on jack stands, any truth to that??

I just entered codes in my browser search field. I may not have gotten the "Chevy" description for some of them.
