Default What is a poverty splitter?

Everyone talks about poverty splitters and other things like stage 1, 2, 3. Can someone define these things for a novice like me?

It’s was coined off the Z06 OEM Stage 1 splitter. The Stage 2 is more aggressive with shorter side winglets. The Stage 3 includes the taller side winglets.

And the stage-1, or poverty (low cost) splitter (flexible plastic vs carbon fiber) is an easy addition to Stingrays if you are into that type of thing.

All good info above. I’d also note the poverty splitter is only $120 if you smash it while the carbon fiber one is very expensive.

Poverty splitter is flat black. Stage 2 & 3 is either carbon fiber or carbon flash. All flat black parts on my car have been replaced including spats and mud flaps. Lots nicer now.

....and the Poverty splitter is cheap and is considered by many to be a disposable item.

For street use, just get the Stage 1 splitter..

Do you even have a car? No details in post or profile

Is there any added aero benefit of the stage 1 splitter? I highly doubt it provide any downforce but does it reduce lift @ front end?

Any aero benefit would be negligible.

Poverty Splitter, is when you ram your C7's fiberglass front air dam into a curb or incline, cracking and splintering it,, and cannot afford to fix it. C7s without the front cameras are all pretty much doomed to this poverty.

One would have to drive on different streets than I to want any kind of splitter. Here it would be more apt to be called a "cracker"... at least in carbon.

Looks like your car came with the stage 1 splitter unless you special ordered an upgrade.

I believe he has been busy on other projects. Currently he just started his tour with his other band - A Perfect Circle.
