C6 Door handle switch
Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked before, my search produced nothing.
My passenger exterior door handle switch stopped working. When pressed I see the red lights blink but it does not release the door to open. The door opens fine using the interior button. Is it safe to assume that it is the exterior handle switch? My FOB's are new.
Suggestions?
Thanks,
Rick

I had the same problem, door handle switches are pretty cheap online or you can clean the contacts in the handles, it only takes a couple of minute. Here is a video from the forum. There are also plenty of other videos on Youtube.

It’s common for the connections in the handle pad to get dirty. Simple fix to remove and clean them. 15 minutes, zero cost and mine was fixed. Did the same thing to my exterior rear hatch button.

Quick check to weed out if it just the pressure pad on the door, or the lock latch instead, see if the interior button on the door opens the door.
Hence both the door button inside and the pull pad outside, are connected to the same circuit. So If only one of the two works, then the problem with the other. If both don't work, then could be the latch mech instead.

Feels good when you can easily and inexpensively repair something, doesn't it?

Yes, I needed a brake. I usually do everything myself but I decided to ask the dealer about the broken ash tray spring and my PS hose (has tiny leak). I passed on the ash tray, that was $300+ and the PS hoses $900. The new Vettes are great but I'd rather work on the old ones.
