75 corvette
Decided to list my 75 as I'm getting to the place it's hard for me to work on it. I'll be 75 this summer and things don't work like they used to. When I found it it had been settiing in a barn on a cement floor for 26 years. I have completely redone the drive train. The engine is a 350 2 bolt punched out 60 thou. with a mild cam. Engine all new inside except the rods. Am running dual fans from a c-5 with a new aluminum radiator. Has vortec heads from a 96. Has new clutch assembly and all new seals in transmission and rear end. Has a Hurst shifter. Has new rear wheel bearings as well as new brakes and calipers all around. Car has been refitted with 1980 front, rear, and interior and dash. All gauges work except clock. New carpet. New paint, wheels and tires. New shocks all around. No rust in birdcage. Air works or it did last fall. This is a very nice driver that is fun to drive. Just needs a few odds and ends finished up that I don't feel up too any more. Asking $11,000 or looking for a c-5.

Just another Corvette guy
Hey Larry,
I don't like to dis other guy's Corvettes as I believe there are "no bad Corvettes, some are just better than others" but if you're looking for feedback, I think this particular car will be for sale for a while with an asking price of $12,500. I don't have to itemize what the car is or isn't. Just compare what other '75 coupes are bringing and which Corvettes you can buy for the same money.
Regards, Greg

Larry,
Personally, I only share thoughts or give feedback when asked...and since you are interested in feedback based on the above, I will put in my .02¢:
Based on the above excerpt from your original thread, I believe you will have a VERY difficult time selling that car. Your honesty in disclosure is admirable...BUT: It is my observation that people tend to steer clear of vehicles when the terms "theft recovery" and "missing VIN" are concerned...especially those in the market for a Corvette.
Now add to that the fact you are asking a price that cars without these attributes possess...All of this is going to make it very difficult, if not impossible to move your car out at your price-point...regardless of however much money you have personally spent on the car, or how much work you have put into the car to bring it to where it is today.
I will not try to blow sunshine up your rear by telling you things like "you should stand your ground", or "stand firm, the right buyer will come along and give you what you're asking". In this case, I just don't see that happening.
I realize that your listed price of $12,500 is an asking price, and is most likely negotiable, but I see it as a much higher starting point than most people will be willing to "start" any negotiations at for your particular car. Do I believe you can and will sell your car to the "right" buyer? Yes. Do I believe it will happen at $12,500 or even close? No, I do not.
I hope for your sake, and for the sake of a fellow Corvette enthusiast AND fellow Hoosier I am wrong...but I can't be less than 100% truthful when asked for thoughts or feedback.
I wish you all the best moving forward.
Regards,
Dave

That is the feedback I was needing. Like was said the price is just an asking price and one has to start somewhere. You can always come down but can't go up. Thanks to all who replied. This will be a nice driver for someone.

For the record Larry, it’s actually against forum rules for members to post criticism (“Feedback”) on a car for sale thread. Members were respecting that rule.
Now that you have asked for it, people will provide the feedback you seek.
Good luck with the sale.

I currently have a ‘75 convertible listed for $12.500.00 I have had a few nibbles. I had a couple $10k offers that I cannot accept. I have been told numerous times that ‘75 is the worst year Corvette. I think that is just silly. I can afford to keep mine if no body wants it. I wish you the best of luck you have a nice car. Tag issues not counting.
