Can you sell to California residents? For some reason another CF vendor can't.

Thank you again for the great deal on my warranty also Ken.

I'm going to save this as I'm sure there will be one of those "where can I get an extended warranty at a good price" threads coming along soon.

Great website. This should help a lot of folks who have questions about what is covered and what mileage and time frames are available. Well done.

Default Warranty Sales

NO to selling plans in California and WOW thanks for the huge response on the website over the weekend, I answered almost 200 emails yesterday and yes my arms and hands were tired when I left to go home last night. If you want a plan at a great price MAY is the month to do it so if your warranty is up in July, August or September get it now. Remember there is a 1 month AND 1,000 mile lag period before anything is covered so it gives you the chance to get the 1 month over and hopefully a good start on the 1,000 miles before factory warranty is over. Again my direct line into my office is 406-896-3082 and my cell number is 406-698-6355.

Again thanks for the great year last year and I want to beat it this year!!

So how does this work? Is this a Chevrolet backed warranty that would service any local Chevy dealer? It can only be activated when your car is still within the original factory warranty, correct?

jonebone-this is the GM warranty and work can be done at any GM store. I can sell the plan on any car under 10 years old and 120,000 miles but once out of the factory 36/36 it costs lots more than while under warranty.

These plans look like a great deal! I’m on the fence between keeping my current 2016 3LT A8 Stingray or upgrading to a new GS. Have about 3 mo’s to decide before the factory 3yr/36k mile warranty expires.

The rates quoted seem very reasonable. Especially for such extensive coverage and backed by GM. With the complexity of the C7 and the cost of associated repairs, I don’t see how a person could go wrong opting for one of the plans. IMO, it’s worth the price just for the peace of mind. And the transfer clause would be a great bonus if one decides to sell their car a bit later down the road. Or of course opt for the prorated refund if unused.

Have just one question for anyone in the know. It appears that the years and mileage selected is “in addition” to the factory limits. So if my vehicle is 34 months old with only 5k miles, and I opt for a plan that’s 60 months and 60k miles, I’d be covered for another 2 months on the factory and then an additional 5 yr’s extended coverage, and another 60k miles on top of whatever is on the odometer (as long as it was under 36k miles) when the factory warranty is up. Am I understanding that correctly?

Don't think so. I think the 60 months is from the original in service date. The mileage is added to the current mileage. Check with a dealer, I may be mistaken.

Not quite. The months/miles start at the time the contract is signed, not added to the end of the factory warranty. So, in your 34/5000 existing age/miles if you buy a 60 month/60,000 mile extended warranty you'd end up with 94 months/65,000 miles. Technically, the extended warranty has a 30 day/1000 mile waiting period before coverage starts, but those are added to the end of the terms.

You are wrong. From the contract:

Expiration is measured in time from the Contract Purchase Date and expiration mileage is derived by adding Miles of Coverage as shown on the Registration Page to the Odometer Mileage at Contract Purchase Date. Maximum expiration mileage is 150,000 Odometer Miles.

That’s my understanding as well, but was trying to verify. Just add the months and miles you select onto whatever remains on your factory warranty when you sign the extended contract to determine when your coverage expires. Activating the extended plan as close as possible to your factory expiration point the better.

Does that sound right?

Basically you get xx months and yyyyy miles added to the date of the contract and to the miles on your odometer at the date of the contract where xx and yyyyy are the months/miles of the contract you purchased. Again, technically not right due to the 30 day/1000 mile waiting period, but those are added to the end of your contract.

The cost of a 72-month/72K plan when the car is new, can be very comparable (if well price shopped) to the cost of a 36/36 at the end of the warranty period. You're getting the same amount of coverage with both. There are scenarios where the longer plan at the beginning can actually be less expensive.

I bought mine yesterday from Dennis, got the 84/56000 (longest months lowest miles) which takes me to ~72000 and June of 2025! The car will be over 9 years old then and to break the mileage I'd have to drive every year from now on over 8000 miles (at 6 months of driving per year that's tough). So I won't hit the mileage.

I paid $2K when my car was new for an 84 month/75K mile Platinum, $0 deductible GMEPP, now CPP. I won't keep the car beyond 7 years and am averaging about 6K miles a year.
