Howdy from Arizona
Hello all,
Just thought I’d stop in and say “hello” as I just purchased my first Corvette, an ‘02 Z06. This thing is awesome and a complete beast. I’m fairly handy around vehicles, however, I’m all ears and I’m here to learn about these monsters as Chevy V8s are completely new to me. And yes...I’ve read about the valve spring issue with the LS6, so that along with a full fluid change is the first order of business.
Anyhow, glad to be a part of the forums and hope everyone has a great weekend.
Regards,
Joel

Getting a C5 Z06 is a good choice for a first Corvette - best of luck with the car. And welcome to the forum. See you in the C5 sections.

Hey guys,
Thank you for the warm welcome! Seems like a great group of people here. I’m pretty happy with my purchase although I know there are gremlins lurking somewhere in the car. My first order of business is to take it to the hobby shop on base, put it on a lift and start a laundry list of things to do. I tried not to get all googly-eyed when I was looking at it before purchase, but of course I’m sure I missed a few things that’ll come back to bite me.
I will definitely see you guys in the C5 section! Thank you again for the warm welcome!

Glad to hear a seasoned Corvette guy agrees with my purchase! I was worried I may have bitten off more than I can chew! But, I have a good amount of experience with cars in general...so we shall see. Thank you again!

It’s starting to get a bit hotter out these days. I think Tucson is getting up into the high-90s or low-100s. I live a bit higher up in elevation so we’re about 10 to 15 degrees cooler than Tucson...thank God. But, I can’t complain about the summer heat when the winters are perfect.

My folks are originally from west-central Illinois - near Burlington, IA. My first job as a kid was detassling corn for Pioneer Seed. Ouch. And yes, Tucson is pretty nice this time of year.
Anyway - Go Cubs Go!
