Value question of a mint 3K mile 1993 40th Convertible
Hello forum members...
I have a client with an absolutely mint, 3K mile Ruby Red Convertible that is looking to sell. This thing is immaculate! It has been in a few Vette shows, has won awards every time.
I can post pics. but here are the details. I have looked on the market and roughly can guestimate ~30-40K as a retail price.
1993 Convertible. Soft top only.
3041 miles
Ruby Red with the matching seats
Original condition, never modified. All OEM parts that came with it.
Re-print of original window sticker and options sheet
Tires are excellent shape
Body is MINT. not a scratch ding or scuff.
One flaw, only one, the rear passenger side wheel lip, dime sized chip in surface. Clear coat is peeling.. so I suspect a rock hit it.
Title in hand. Whats something like this worth? And if anyone is interested, I am happy to discuss. Attaching a few pics to show.

Bill, may I disagree a little Sir. I bought my 96 for way over market because it was in great shape and I wanted a car I could drive and look like it was new. Yes, while this car is original and that means some serious maintenance is needed along with tires to be a driver. I bought a car in this condition and drove it more in the first year than it went in the last 10 years. You are correct as a waxer may buy it and it does not get driven and that is stupid. I lay in bed and think of why did someone pay over 40K for a corvette (plus finance charge if it was financed) and then proceed to drive it only 1100 miles a year. I don't get it.

Try an auction. MOST people looking for c4's don't want to pay much, and I would say IMO the car is only worth what someone will pay, which I would think is very possible 15k.
For me that money is zr1 money.
If this car had the hardtop I would say an interested buyer would feel better about that.
Great example of a c4 though.

Not in the market or knowledable about the value of your ‘93, but I wanted to say how nice I think your vert is. I doubt you will have difficulty finding a buyer for such a well preserved Corvette. I did find one for sale with similar milage in Lubbock, TX. Here’s a link to the car: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=197992313

Very nice vert. Having looked at a lot of them lately, it seems like if you want to get 13+ you will have to wait for the right buyer,

Value is very subjective when dealing with any commodity and condition is tied to value in a very tangible way. An object described as being in "MINT" condition means, literally, that it looks just like it rolled off the assembly line; that there is not a single defect of any kind in the product. It is in the BEST possible condition the car can possibly be in. A defect in the clear coat will need to be addressed, as it is a flaw that is not cheap to remedy properly.
What your client has is certainly a beautiful machine. I would say its in "excellent" condition, which can mean different things to different people. I would say if a person is thinking of the "guesstimate" you mentioned then a professional appraisal might be in order. You may want to see what similar cars have sold for on Ebay or Bring A Trailer to get an idea of what these are actually bringing. I bought a C4 because it was an affordable way to realize my dream of owning a Corvette. I believe 30-40k to be... somewhat optimistic. At this price point I'd be looking for a C2 or perhaps a C4 ZR-1.

He could get teens for it no problem, (maybe more if he waits) 3000 miles is low, car is super nice. One chip wont hurt him.
Now if he wants big money then fix it. Id start higher, you can always come down. They may not be in demand, but someone out there is willing to pay a little more for one with that low of miles. That car needs to be driven a lot its sat long enough.
