Default PB Booster check valve

Is there a way to check a power brake booster check valve?

Sure. Just blow into it from where the hose connects and should not pass air. Try it the other way and it should pass air. Use your mouth - not an air hose.

That's it; the 'ole blow/suck check - also how I check vacuum advance cans with a rubber hose.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Don't do it in front of your pals though - you'll never hear the end of it

The valve may give you a wink whenever you check the oil.

So I applied vacuum to the engine side and it held a vacuum about 11 “ hg. I applied a vacuum to the booster side and no go.

So I guess it is working

It is.

Your service manual will have the other three "in car" checks to make sure the valve works, the internals are good and the vacuum reserve is sufficient...
