Little bit of clutch smell, only when fully disengaged?
07 Z, 7k miles, bolt ons and a P1SC @4lbs of boost. I believe the clutch is stock.
Ive out around 1,000 miles on the car in the last 18 months and kinda finally understanding how to drive it the way it wants to be driven.
I get a little clutch smell when the clutch is pressed in deep, almost all the way to the floor. Seems odd. Nothing huge but a little smell. No other real symptoms I have noticed. Maybe a little lurching low speed parking lots but I think that might be the tune.
the clutch also engages RIGHT at the top of the throw, the clutch basically just needs some pressure and disengages and allow for nice shifting. No smell then.
Any thoughts on why I’d get that clutch smell when the pedal is pressed deep into the throw?
Also, does that sound like stock clutch hydraulics to you all? Curious if other people’s Z’s just drive like that. I had a Tick Master Cylinder in a previous car and this feels similar

Sounds like its not fully disengaging

It doesn’t smell though when depressed a couple inches, only when the clutch is depressed down towards the floor. Really odd.
Shifts great when you just barely touch the clutch, no smell. It’s really nice actually.

Simple answer then...why push the clutch all the way in if the friction point is so low? Also, what's the fluid look like?

I mean yeah, sure. Sometimes it’s just more comfortable driving it like that, it’s also a weird issue and am curious why it might be happening.
Clutch fluid gets pretty dirty quick. Not black but a very dark/opaque amber.

Any leaks? Weird sounds? And also, sure it's not tires?
