Looking for People Who Need Original Fiberglass Rear Pieces from a 58
This is not a FS listing at this time. I just acquired the back half (fiberglass only) of a 58. I need only the rearmost glass where the horizontal bumpers go. I want to see if anyone would have use for the quarters, trunk floor, or anything else. This was sitting outside for years, but the paint seems to have protected the glass pretty well.

After seeing the torn up thread it really got me feeling guilty. I am Restomoding a 57 (NOM, trans, and aftermarket one-piece nose). I can't believe that I found this. In fact if someone can get me a clean section that I need (the center rear) I won't even have to cut this.

I need to replace the curved center section as shown here, up to the point that mates with the trunk lid.

My first thought was why not just repair what you have? I think skill level either way you go is the same. Second thought, I think I might have a section that would be perfect for use as a front or back side "sort of mold piece" which you could glass to. Wax it up good so it will release and I think you would be good to go or it might work if you wanted to cut it in. And, I would just repair the upper trunk surround crack regardless of how you proceed. I am going to look for piece and take a picture. If you think it will work for you just pay the shipping and you can have it. I think it came from a NOS replacement section-new raw fiberglass. My take an hour.

From the keyhole it measures about 16" to 17" side-to-side.
If this works for you, the rear 58 section you have is a little unique if you do decide to part out in sections. The entire rear lower panel once the top surround is separated is different than 59-60. 58 used the filler sections in the wheel wells while the 59-60 wheel wells were completely molded in-consequently no need for the wheel well filler panels. And, the trunk floor area above the bumper brackets is cutout while the 59-60 were not. Bottomline, I think your lower rear panel (with or without the trunk floor) would be highly desirable to a 58 owner.
So, if you decide to sell sections in the next couple of months please get back with me as I would be interested in the LH quarter. The entire quarter or from the center wheel well back.
I looked at your rear donor again and I think it is from a 59-60 not a 58. Betting there are no filler panels in wheel well and the trunk floor is not cutout over bumper bracket area. Hadn't noticed before. So, still interested in the quarter but more correct as 59-60 to me.

I want to thank everyone on the forum who motivates me to repair fiberglass and do the work myself. Originally the rounded trunk piece on the body stuck out like an underbite when the lid was closed.and was cracked. All good now. Used West System 105/205 and System Three Cabosil Thickener.
