Sealant + wax??
#2
In short? Yes. Most quality wax provide more “shine” as layered. When I apply carnauba wax to my car(s) I usually apply 2 coats for best result. 3 or more coats become diminishing returns. With polymer based wax I stop at 1 because again, diminishing my returns on the shine.
Sealants are more like polymer based wax, so you can layer wax on top for better depth, but at some point you have to question the amount of work in relation to the actual result. IMO you’ll get better result with a glaze if shine is what you’re after.

Melting Slicks
My favs for all my cars.
I use Rejex on the nose to help repel & EZ removal of bug guts.I learned about this when I co-owned a plane yrs ago.
Collinite on remainder of car including glass and after every drive,a quick detailer wipe down.
I'm showing a pic of my 22 YO,one owner '96 GST.Original paint.
Most products can make a new car look great.

Favorite detailing products are like opinions, which in turn are like you-know-what’s. Everyone’s got one (of their favorites).
i love 3M Imperial Hand Glaze. The depth of shine is incredible. But it is a ton of elbow grease to apply. You can try machine apply it, but it is still a major pain to wipe off.
I’ve been a very loyal Griots Garage customer for 18 years, and they used to make a very nice glaze that’s easy to buff out, but they don’t make or sell that anymore. Their polymer wax does a fantastic job at mimicking the shine from a very fine glaze and last like a good canauba wax.
But it’s all preference. There’s no new technology in the detailing industry that hasn’t been explored. Almost all the major players offer similar products, so I would say pick a favorite brand and use it...it’s more about how it’s applied than the actual product itself if you ask me.

Great info Guys - I get dizzy from all the offerings - been using Meguiars products but I think its just not a deep enough shine
May have to get the buffer out and have some fun after I decide on a product to use - buffed hundreds of cars at the body shop years ago but me thinks its time to do my own car for a change
