I recently pulled my late-grandfather's 1990 convertible out of 2 year hibernation. It was being driven up til 2016, when my aunt who first inherited it from his estate parked it. She wasn't able to afford putting money into it and said that I could have it. My grandfather drove it a lot (112K miles). It runs and drives, but has some body issues (clear coat peeling, cracked gel coat, faded, etc.). I am working on getting it more road worthy and just enjoy driving it some during the summer months.
Any advice for a C4 owner? The steering needs repaired (knuckle loose), the interior is quite sun baked and new tires are in order.
This isn't my first rodeo with older cars, as I have several... but its my first Corvette. She sits next to my '46 Ford now.
This was from a few years back... still looks much the same, other than more paint fade and loss of clear coat.

Cool car.. I love the verts!
Welcome to CF!
Advice? The single best piece of advice any new owner could receive is to get a factory service manual or subscribe to AllData's DIY info system.
Corvettes are different and they are complicated and the information you will receive from either of those sources is worth its weight in gold. IMVHO.
Nice car!! Great project!!

Get the car running all the way then you can worry about polishing the chrome, if you even want to get to it.

Welcome to the asylum, If you've been spinning wrenches on other toys then you are way ahead of the game at this point. I see you have the manuals so combine that with some common sense and you should be okay...these cars can be be persnickety though...kinda like chicks with tires.
