If you have access to the forum, you have access to the LIME BOOK in the stickys up there. According to that source these are the choices:

HO 65 327 250 4B,PG CO
HO 66 327 300 4B,PG CO
HO 67 327 300 4B,PG CO
HO 68 327 300 4B,TH400 CO
HO 69 350 300 4B,MT PA

Need more info to narrow it down

Would a 66 have the alternator & VR on the passenger side?

CO=Corvette engine. The alternator and VR would be on the driver's side on a '66.

They are on the passenger side in a 65? Yes...

Are the riviets on the trim tag correct? They do not look like my 66 riviets.

Unless you have A/C

I don't know about the rivets, they look correct but maybe flat? This is my old 65 that I believe to be original:

Seems like a 66 has a 65 engine harness hook up.

I looked at a 66 that had the alternator & VR on the passenger side. No holes on the driver side....& manifolds with heat tubes blocked , on both sides

It appears that the 66 car...has a 65 engine compartment..(Front End replaced)....?

The F in the engine stamp tells us it is a 1966 or earlier.

Starting in 1967, Flint used V instead of F.

The engine belongs in the 66..numbers match, what does not belong is the 65 front end. Including shroud , alt, VR...manifolds...real strange. The VR was tucked in the front passenger top inner fender

That vin tag looks awfully suspect to me. Trim tag rivets look no better.

I see nothing wrong with either of those tags or rivets from those pictures.

Trim tags look solid to me.

That’s pretty funky about the VR and inner fender though...
