1985 c4
My wife got me a 1985 C4 for my 40th birthday last weekend. The car is in good shape with only 65K miles on it. It's going to need some interior work though. The dash is showing its years and the panels on the doors are lose and breaking. Who do you guys go to for interior parts? Also, has anyone here had their interior wrapped instead of a full replacement?
The top seems to be some type of see through plastic. It's cracked and will need to be replaced to. I am assuming it needs new weather stripping too.
Thanks.

Congratulations. If you are going to DIY factory service manuals would be a good investment, ebay is a good place to look. You can install a solid top in place of the clear top. There are 3 series of roofs you would want to be to get correct one. Parts : Parts W&FS, ebay, and there are a few corvette salvage yards who advertise on Craigslist. But with used parts they all will be 30 years old, you may look at bunch before you find what you want for the price you want.

Thanks. What is W&FS?

I dunno what your skill level is, but you can rebuild the dash and replace the polarizing film (the stuff that makes it blackout) with supplies from http://batee.com/corvette/dcrg/repair/
If that sounds intimidating, you can ship the whole thing to him and he'll do it. He's good. His prices are reasonable. Nice guy.
Interior parts vary. I got my seat covers from Rock Auto, and they're not too tough to install. You can watch the used section for some of this stuff. Wilcox (he's a vendor here, check the sidebar.) is a good source for weatherstripping and interior parts.
Melrose Corvette is considered to be really good at re-lensing the glass top. You want a quality job here because with the windows down, it can blow the glass out if it isn't attached properly.

Welcome to the C4 Brotherhood! Your wife has excellent taste.
This forum is a wealth of technical help.
If the plastic roof panel is showing ANY signs of coming loose from the frame, don't drive it until it's been replaced. You don't want to become a member of The Flying Roof Club.

Ohhhh, nice... Does it have the Chocolate Interior?
That's so classy looking. Refined.
Most of the C4's are done in "show off" colors, and the Chocolate is a great contrast to that.

I have great luck with Corvette America. They actually make a lot of interior parts that other vendors sell. They also have a good "scratch & dent" section where you can possibly score some door panels or seat leathers. Corvette Carlisle is in August. If anywhere near there don't buy anything until you go. No ifs, and, or butts, whatever you need is there and usually at great prices, even the new stuff.
PS..guy parting out a 89 with a 54k black interior in parts section

It is light bronze and dark bronze. Hey a little tip when you start messing around with the doors get some of these on hand and replace all the broken ,worn out ones. Will make life much easier as you put things back. 10 per door at least.

You can find them cheaper.
