American Racing long tubes and X-pipe with Akrapovic exhaust sound?
This is the combo im going to be running on my grand sport. How do you think it will sound? Hopefully not too much drone?

I would start with headers and xpipe with stock NPP and see if you like the way it sounds. Headers make a big difference with the stock NPP. If that doesn't satisfy you then I would take the plunge on the Akrapovic.

I have this combination on an LT4. It is pretty loud compared to stock but there is no drone with my car, which I am happy about. I was just texting with a friend yesterday who installed the Akra axle back on a C6Z and his does drone.
Edit - cats vs no cats can make a huge difference as well. I have the ARH headers with high flow cats, FYI.

Fleming23, thanks. I am doing the high flow cats as well. So, a pleasing loud? With the flaps closed can you have a phone conversation? Say, cruising down the highway?
The reason I made this thread is I started my car up finally from storage and that first bark is loud and awesome, I dont mind it being louder but hopefully not too obnoxious

It definitely is not obnoxious. You can carry on a conversation inside the car with the valves open or closed but it does get lively when the RPMs increase. Closed is pretty nice and relatively quiet even. No regrets at all with this combination, other than maybe cost.

To answer your question - it's going to sound sick
If I were spending that kind of money, I would look at Tri-Y Headers,
No real power difference, but the sound pitch is more in the exotic
sound you are looking for
Regards
Chip

FWIW I did kooks 2" headers and catless x to factory mufflers and didn't would never buy mufflers on these cars, NPP leaves you wanting nothing and you can still throw it into Stealth Mode.

Why spend 1K + for mufflers on these cars
