Default Raise your hand if your tires are metal magnets.

I’m about to replace my fifth tire in just over 3 years due to road debris. Even crazier, this very tire was just replaced a couple of weeks ago due to the same thing. I don’t drive through construction areas etc, just bad luck. Who else has experienced this kind of luck with our rolling lint rollers?!

PS Thank god for road hazard insurance.

Yes flats happen.
Murphy's Law, fate of bad things happening in threes.
Hopefully you have used up all your bad luck.

Only comment I have is that when street driving if you go outside of painted lines, one finds a debris field. So try to drive between the lines or where most other vehicles travel.

Good luck.

I have no idea why, but I have had four metal pick-ups in the last three years on Vette tires. Just last week I had a two inch tip of a steak knife. My other cars have not had an issue for fifteen years.

Your tires are 3x the width of a Honda Fit. You're going to get 3x the nails, it's all in the numbers!

Not metal, but on a narrow back road from work a dead skunk on the middle line. Deep ditch right and oncoming traffic. I hit it, A bone penetrated my Z-28 tire and was flat when I tried to go to work that night. Stunk also despite hitting the car wash right after hitting it...Driving 52 years luckily my only occurrence.

Yep in my 2014 C7 so when I bought my Grand Sport was concerned as the 12 bay tires shop in town, which is the only one I would let touch the wide low profile run falts would not fix if the nail was in the outer treads. In the GS that is 2 and 2 1/2 inches inner and outer! That is the rule they follow.

discount Tire just moved into town so checked with them about their capability. The manager showed me their capability and said no problem. For $250 bought tire insurance. If the flat can not be repaired I get a new tire with cost based on remaining Tread. Been a year and so far have been lucky, hope it continues!

In the Discount Tire waiting area they have a display showing the same thing, repairs can be made IF not in the outer tread. Granted that is close to the sidewall and there are extra belts etc near the edge but for the Grand Sport appears excessively cautious. Frankly with a year or two wear, I'd prefer a repair than one new and one used tire in the rear. Bet if a nail is toward the center even in the outer tread they will repair rather than supply a new tire. Fine with me.

Yes, rear left tire in my present vette and previous vette. 3 times each. Not sure why nails, bolts and screws are partial to the rear left tire but that's where the damage has been. Now on a new set of tires with Road Hazard coverage.

My hand is raised.
I have had Discount Tire remove 10 nails and screws from my C7s since 2014. I am glad they fix flats at no charge.

What is so aggravating is nothing should be on the street, and could be avoided if people would just close their tailgates.
I went 10 years on my old Z06, but then this... messed up the wheel too!
Could have been worse.. If the screw driver handle was not broken, it would have torn up the fender too.

Cars with big wide tires pick up lots of debris. Cost of ownership!
