Lateral G of Different Models
Does anyone have a good comparison of the lateral G attainable by the different models of C7, when equipped with the appropriate factory runflats?
In particular; most of the GS results I've seen were done with the Z07 package and it's stickier tires, most folks are using the PSS for street use.
Here are the different combinations I know of, and there may be more:
Base with 18/19 wheels (those tires are called PSS but have different tread compound, oriented more toward comfort and tread life).
Base with 19/20 wheels (optional 2014-2017 but standard 2018 & later).
Z51 (should be very close to base with 19/20 wheels).
GS with normal PSS runflats.
GS with Z07 option.
Z06 with normal PSS runflats (should be very close to GS with same tires).
Z06 with Z07 option (should be very close to GS with same option).
If we could get numbers from GM, those should be comparable model-to-model. Other sources will likely be done on different days and different surfaces, comparisons not quite so neat.
What numbers have you seen posted?

To have any real comparative meaning (especially given how small many of the differences would likely be) one would have to have all models tested at the same time and venue under identical conditions. That's not going to happen, even from GM.
If you do a google search you will find a variety of numbers for various models across reports from different sources. In general, they fall roughly in the order one would expect, from around 1.0 to 1.16-1.19, or so, with the Z06 being highest (no ZR1 reported that I saw at that time). There are few, I'd venture, here who could tell the difference except on the track, and then it might be doubtful.

Lap times with the PSS can be pretty competitive with the Cup2 tires. Here is a forum member setting a very fast lap at VIR on PSS tires. He is only running a couple seconds off his fastest pace with Cup2s. Notice the pegged G Meter in the video. 1.25 lateral Gs in a corner is pretty good.

The only one I can comment on is the Z51. I have seen two independent tests and they both showed 1.05 lateral G’s.

Car and Driver just posted an article stating 1.18g for the ZR1. Said the Z06 was the same.
On Cup2 tires I presume.
