I almost feel like breaking them might be the best route. Dang are those things hard to get out...

LOL! Out as in replacing....
Got them both out. One took forever, one broke. Not sure the broke pieces were any easier.
Now to replace the pins in the mirror support and stop the mirror wobble!!

I had one break as well when I switched them to LED lights. There is no reason they should have been in there that tight. I used a hook pick to try and get behind them to pry but that didn’t even work as well as I thought it would.

I used a curved needle nose plier and grabbed it very gently, and wiggled it out. LEDs make a noticeable difference. Did all the other interior lights and added footwell lights also.

Melting Slicks
I have read all the horror stories of trying to get these bulbs out and that has always stopped me from trying this. But a couple of months ago I said how hard can this be and tried it. I got a needle nose and just pulled the bulbs and they came right out, took all of 5 seconds for both sides. Maybe I got lucky who knows, but I now have my LED'S in place.

I slipped a piece of heat shrink tubing over the bulb, turned the bulb on to get hot, then turned it off to cool. It shrunk around it and held tight. I pulled on the tubing and it came right out.

There are some things that sometimes flabbergast me.
I've never replaced the map/dome lights.
Whoda thunk?
and I'm certainly not complaining.

When I replaced mine with LEDs, I tried the zip tie and wire method, neither worked. Finely just used a small plastic trim removal tool like a little wedge to basically pop them out; surprisingly, neither broke. If I ever decide or need to replace them again, I will try the shrink wrap method

I used a tiny zip tie and that worked for me. The normal sized ones doesn't provide enough grip around a 194 sized bulb. I would try wiggling the bulb back and forth just a little to try to loosen it off the base as it is pretty tight.
Another method is try putting a rubber band around the bulb and grip it with some needle nose pliers.

Maybe use one of these? A bit pricey, but if it works, think of the aggravation saved,
