Default Corsa X pipe

Any feed back on Corsa 3" X pipe? Considering it, but looking for performance related feedback prior to purchase. Thanks

Just put mine on about 2 weeks ago. There is a difference, but I mean here's the thing. Unless you did the fuse pull then your really not going to notice a whole lot especially from inside the car. If anyone is under the impression it will make a "huge difference" it wont. The car gets a little louder that's it. The exhaust sound is smoother as well. The tone really doesn't change all that much. The first time I fired it up I was like meh....

if your end goal is to is to never put headers on then I'd say go for it. No tune required.

I may sell mine when I install long tube headers/w catted xpipe to control the smell. Headers are the only way to get volume out of the car. Anything behind the headers after that point is just tone control.

Thanks for the reply. I don't intend to install headers. Don't want to get into the tune. Was curious if it's worth the $500 for performance. I'm happy with the sound of the stock exhaust. Any noticeable difference low end torque? Acceleration? Looking to do some bolt on upgrades. TB? installed BMS filter......

well your in a little different boat that I am since you have a Z and I dont. But I can totally relate because 2 of my other cars are boosted. My honest opinion? Performance wise no. Sound yah man forsure get! You will notice a difference and you might like that difference and feel it's adiquite. . Any time you add anything to a FI motor it's best to tune it. It may run safe and be okay (sometimes definitely not) but it's almost like money down the drain performance wise. X pipe and back won't need a tune.. so while your at it just get the corsa extreme with the xpipe and be done with it.

like literally just by tuning your car, just the dyno tune itself... will net you a lot more HP (and a lot i mean really a lot) and performance for around the same price.

but if you want that thing to sound mean nasty... xpipe and corsa extreme is where it's at bar the headers...

Look for a post on mid pipe comparison by BobU on this site. There is a link to a direct comparison on the dyno between Borla, Corsa , and a third custom made mid pipe. this was a non tuned comparison on a stock C7 ZO6. Very interesting comparison. The Corsa had a great sound but made less HP & TQ than the Corsa and the custom pipe.

I forgot to add this too... and just live by it.
anything you add starting with air intake, all the way through the motor and back out to the stock cats needs a tune (including any fuel system upgrades) . For 1 big *** reason, most importantly so you don't blow your motor up because more than likely it will lean out and go kaput.

I will bet my bottom dollar with a CAI, TB, Intake manifold, on a stock tune @ the dyno you will run really lean.

performance parts that include either adding more air, more fuel, or more boost must be tuned. Other wise you will learn the hard way.

He meant to say the Borla pipe made slightly more hp and torque (~15 each). Based on the video he mentioned (on YouTube), I bought the Borla and couldn't be happier. I doubt either pipe makes much of a sound difference under normal driving conditions - but mash the pedal to the floor and WOW! The sound is very race-car like!

I can't speak to the Corsa, but the Borla puts a smile on my face every time I get on it!

I installed the Corsa X w/their Xtremes and couldn’t be happier. Deep throaty tone w/o the drone... and you get a few extra ponies as a bonus (@ 5:24):

Did you have an NPP exhaust prior? If so, do the sound modes still operate..ie Stealth, Sport?

I changed to B&B Fusion exhaust and X-pipe on my C6 ZO6. Both were installed at the same time. What I really enjoyed a lot was the gurgling and popping when I down shifted. My C7 Z with an M7 doesn't do this. Will an X-pipe alone do this for my C7 or what would I need to change to get that kind of sound out of it?
