Considering the high polish esthetic value, I would recommend having yours rebuilt!
Take it to a shop that specializes in rebuilding alternators - not to some auto parts store where the chances are a clerk in training may be tasked with installing bearings and a rectifier.
Looks to be a CS-130 'Iceberg' with that 'finned' rear housing.
Why can't you rebuild what you've got?
If it's performed well why consider a change? Did you buy it new or came with the car.
Much more needs to be known before making any recommendations.
It's making a nasty whining sound. I'd have it rebuilt but all the chrome is peeling off...it's in rough shape.

Maybe consider this - Your car I believe is an '86 and with the pump eliminator a CS144 is likely a 'bolt on'. Maybe you remove yours and compare locally with a CS144 from '94 - '96 maybe. Stand them on the pulley 'side by side' and compare the mounting clocking and thickness. If you're satisfied with the mounting base your new purchase based on that.
I'd think everyone would agree a CS144 more desirable than what you've got. You need bracing added to the mount I'd think and only a plug-in adapter. Easy I'd think!!

How did you do with the Budnik steering wheel?
The Alternator I have has actually been very good to me, I think I've had it for 8+ years. I guess I could upgrade to the CS144 but it may not be necessary (I don't even listen to the radio) Haha!
The Budnik wheel was put on hold for new Corbeau A4 seats...which I've yet to install.
WVZR got it right away. Iceberg. I have built-up two iceberg 130's for my personal cars using parts from this place. They also have complete iceberg 130's built to your desire available at reasonable prices. They can probably help you with a 144, if that's what you want to do. Another option I seldom see mentioned on here is the CS130D (Note the D suffix). This is a bolt in, same size, no extra bracing required replacement for the 130. The D has an enclosed fan, larger bearings, and is generally more reliable than the regular 130. Go to the link and check out the CS-130D. Might be a good compromise for you if you don't need the output at idle that the 144 provides, which it doesn't look like you do. Minimize the strain on your bracket, keep the 130 or 130D. :2cents:
