Drives fine until Gas Pedal is Mashed On then goes into Limp Mode
Hi Yall
Thanks for looking...
Heres the deal
I can drive her around just fine until I quickly lay into the Gas Pedal.
Then it goes into Limp Mode. I have to turn off the car then upon restart it drives fine again.
The codes are P1516 and P2101
So Far
I have swapped out the Thottle Body and Checked the Throttle Body Harness.
I also wiggled the Gas Pedal and it doesnt move. The gas pedal does not feel loose or broke
I really dont wanna take it to a shop as I just paid a transmission shop $2400 to rebuild the trans...
Thanks for any input

MAF or it's connection is my guess. Sudden acceleration and weird MAF reading would trigger limp home mode.
I had a hanging idle/limp mode problem that was the MAF.
I asked the auto parts store if I could hook it up in the parking lot to verify it fixed the problem, if not could I get a refund. They said no problem.

Might be the throttle positioning sensor, or connection, at the gas pedal. Mine did the same thing and kicked up a code for the pedal. Refusing to pay the horrid price the parts house wanted, I took down the parts number and left. Got home and took the connector off and it didn't feel like it was all the way connected. Tossed in some dielectric grease and plugged it back in. Issue hasn't resurfaced!
