Default What color for my 59?

Ok corvette friends. I've been talking with Greg at GTS customs, (awesome guy) and getting ready for body work, then paint. I would like to know about these 2 colors, Black or Deep Red Pearl by PPG??

Going with his 1.5" wider rear quarters so a little bigger tire will fit.

Which color do you guys like??

You will eventually tire of the Pearl and wish you had chosen differently. Go Black.

Two colors I would consider for my 59. Classic Cream if you want to go original paint. Also, one year at Carlisle, I saw what appeared to be a C-1 painted black, however when you got to about 2 feet away from the car, it turned out to be the deepest cherry red I've ever seen. Impressive.

Check the price on the red and you might want to go with the black . You might get a shock .

2020 C1 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
Default leave it the way the factory made it.

What is the fascination with modifying something that will never be made again? Would you paint a mustache on the Mona Lisa? The car was beautiful when it left the factory. Keep it as it was in it's beautiful glory. You want to do an unusual paint job, buy a Nova.

Color is so subjective, you need to go with what gets your heart racing. That should be the one and only consideration, unless you have a spouse with a vote or you are looking to resell in the next 5 years.

Black with the red interior and silver coves is unbeatable on these cars. Not only that, black is cheaper to buy than red (by a bunch) and much easier to match later on if you need to. I love burgundys/reds, but there really is no choice here. For an absolutely stunning look that will never, ever go out of style, stick with black!

In general, I'm not a huge fan of black cars, and consider the current rage of black cars overdone.

However, that said, this is one car, in black, silver, and red that really pops and wears the black well, unlike painting a turd black and calling it cool. This car makes black paint work.

That, and the dark maroon metallic may look appealing now, but next year . . . ? (to be totally honest, that red has just enough purple tint to look more than a little feminine to me - what we used to call "lipstick red") Not trying to be negative, just how it struck me.

As a compromise, a super dark red rose metallic might come close.

Good luck making a difficult choice.

You're a glutton for punishment if you like perfect shiny paint jobs with black. The other color isn't much better but I can see getting tired of it. Whatever floats your boat is what you should pick. If I have a choice I pick colors that hide flaws, fortunately I prefer light colors.
