Default Power Window Conduit 1965 Coupe

Working on my 1965 and noticed the power window conduit on each side only has one screw in it attaching it to the door. I ordered replacement screws but noticed they are different than the ones that were in the door. When I took the one out that currently exists in the door I hear something fall (perhaps a clip inside the door). Power windows are an original option on the car.

So the questions are:
1) There should be two screws that attach the conduit it to the door (not just one) Correct?
2) Is there a clip inside the door panel that the screw threads into?
3) Which of the screws shown in the picture are correct?

Thanks - Hunter

I don't have a '65 TIM&JG handy, but the '67 TIM&JG calls for "zinc plated hex recessed head screws with shoulder washers" which would describe the parts you received. However, my '67 with factory power windows have black phillip head screws like you currently have. I'll wait to hear from those with much more "eyes on" experience to chime in.

Here’s my 67. No clip on inside of door.

Here is 64, hex head shouldered screw. The 65 JG calls for the same.
Two of them. Probably no clip to screw into.

There are no clips inside the door of original power window cars and there would be two holes drilled in your door for the screws. What makes you think it’s a factory power window car? They’re very easy to add.

Don,
Satisfy my curiosity for me. The AIM shows screw (187822) and nut (445138) to attach the conduit assembly. LIC sells the parts listed below to attach the conduit assembly. Thoughts??

R66 has two hex head on the RH door, but only one hex head on the LH door. Can't see a hole drilled for the second screw on the LH side. 51 year old car, can't help more that that.

Thanks 65 ProVette. I have the original window sticker and it shows power windows.

An old mechanic's trip to deal with a wallowed out screw hole was to stick something in there to let the screw "bite" again. I've seen paper clips used, a bit of solder or finishing nails. You prob heard some Bubba fix like this falling inside the door. The incorrect screw you removed is prob a larger size for the same reason.
