I think I would be wearing a lot more than those cheap latex gloves scooping out piles of rat **** like that. Wonder what the frame looks like? It may be packed solidly with it.

I have to agree. Cars that are neglected and left to the elements and rodents are never the same as ones that were cared for. I know of more than a couple of restored field cars that still have rust on the back of the instrument clusters, top of dash, in all the seams, and smell a bit stale. Give me a car that was never left abandoned in the first place, even if it has honest wear and tear.

The heading in the article said it was a barn find. Seriously.

I stand corrected
I didn't know that you don't have to actually have a barn within the immediate vicinity of the long-abandoned, rat-infested, rotting hulk of a vehicle you call a "barn find" to lend that particular appellation to it...
Apparently, the term "barn find" is even more obtuse than "matching numbers" or "original"
Thanks for bringing me up to speed

Every barnfind has to be evaluated for merits. The Super Chevy article indicates restoration was "in process". Former owner having a clutch explosion through floor would be a concern. The car having minimal options makes the condition of the interior less of a worry to me. It all gets replaced. Not everyone wants a " Top Flight" trailer queen. These articles always talk about the find, but not about the end result. Except the exotic that goes directly to auction.

Quote from under the final picture in the series...
"For his part, Engler's since finished a complete restoration of the '66, but we hope he still finds a few things he's missed, or maybe just things that he needs to keep polished."
Now, those are some pictures I would like to see.
