Default New resale ZR1 for sale in Canada

I came across this ad today for the resale of a never registered ZR1 and thought I'd share. Looks like a flip. I don't know this seller, just want to get this out there for those looking for an example of current asking price for an immediately available ZR1.

It's a 3ZR vert manual, triple black, with 8km on it (5 miles) priced at $220K Canadian ($167K US). That's more than double what I paid for my loaded '17 Z07!!!

It's not for me. I can say that all local dealers are charging a 25% premium over list, and they all have wait-lists, so the price seems close to dealer prices

ZR1 is really hard to order in Canada, with the top dealers only getting like 3 allocations and most don't even get any, therefore you can't even select the options and the dealer orders the car based on their configuration you just have to deal with it. That price is actually on the low end in Canada so its not strange. I know one sold for $250,000 Canadian before any tax and other fees, also if you are in Vancouver you pay like 25% luxury tax making it basically 300k plus. But if you work hard enough to find one, I ordered mine in Canada at MSRP with no markup and open to order whatever I want. I called basically all the dealerships in every major city in Canada and found one in 3 days and secured the last 2019 ZR1 allocation at the biggest corvette dealership, they said they had to talk to the guy from GM in a meeting to specifically request one last allocation for me and they did it. So its basically all up to hard work. :P

I also had my dealer allowed me to order at MSRP, but after all thing considered, i decided that 100K MORE than my C7Z Z07 wasnt nowhere near worth it! So i passed, i'll wait for the C8 to be unveil before getting a new vette!

well worth it or not is subjective, I love corvettes and its tradition so to me its well worth it with what the ZR offers and its a keeper cuz its the last of its kind. Corvette's moving to a complete new platform which means they need alot of time to develop and really have experience with the mid engine placement, it's not gonna be perfect right away but give them time I'm sure they'll figure it out and make it better and better just like how they improved the front engine vettes. I'm gonna be looking at C8 too most likely going to wait for the mature version but wouldn't hurt to have the front engined king vette in the garage with it.

Actually you could already get some here....there was the same said about the Camaro ZL1 1LE. Reason was pedestrian safety due to the Spoiler packages. So point is that both cars are not imported official through GM but US Car Importers like Geiger Cars in Munich buys some and does all the work to get them registered here.
There´s another thread in here ZR1 and ZL1 at the track and both cars are Geiger imports and the video was done for Sport Auto Magazine Germany.

No kidding! I have my 17 Z06/7 with 5,000 miles on it for sale for $91K Canadian ($68K US). That’s less than half the price of what these guys are asking for a ZR1 and you get a car that’s 90% of a ZR1. (Cue the flamers )

I wouldn't buy a ZR1 at that price, but there must be some guys who just have to have it. It's on my list as the next car for me, but not at those prices. I'll wait until next spring and see where the prices are.

pretty sure next spring you won't see a big decrease on price... its still a rare car in canada with limited allocations also some dealers might not even get a 2020 allocation, many are making lines but saying no guarantee... if you can get one at msrp without markup that would be the best deal... Also sorry lol as good as the Z06 is, its not 90% of a ZR1, I loved the Z06 but theres something about the ZR that's just so different, the engine, the cooling, the aero and all the tuning they did really do add up to make the difference.
