New Hankooks for Annette
Purists look away. You've been warned!
So the set of new Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 K120's arrived earlier, and today is the day that they are to be installed, along with a Pfadt Street alignment. The only catch was that my Dodge Magnum station wagon was at the shop and my wife had our other car at work. So how did I get the big honkin meaty tires to the shop? Well, in the 'Vette (Annette) of course! Baxter the Wonder Pup was overseeing the operation. I think he thought those tires were going to replace his toy tire after he wore it out.
I pulled up, unloaded them, and the guys at the shop almost simultaneously said, "I'd have never believed it had I not seen it." I'm looking forward to giving these tires a good run in this weekend.

Nice! I have the same tires on the new coupe I just purchased, they seem to ride smooth compared to the Nitto Invos I had on my previous vette, which I liked those as well. Will see how they hold up! I ordered new rims so hoping to put them on this weekend and I imagine they will look like your car with the rims stuffed in the car!

I'll have to say, hearing the exhaust through the partially opened hatch was music to my ears this morning. A great way to start the day, to say the least!

I enjoyed the Hankook brand in an earlier life. And after a drive this week in my 2007 Coupe, I have altered my opinion of Michelins. My C6 that I've owned for only a month has what look like nearly-new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires. Driving in the rain on wet mountain roads, and exploring the "edge of the envelope" in turns and in braking, I was very impressed. In fact, I should have been in trouble at least once or twice. But these tires are very good. I'm stretching the limits of my skill with them.
The Hankook Ventus EVO2's are tires that I am considering, when I need to replace these Michelins. They will have to be very good tires to be as good. And I'm not happy about saying that. Before now, I've always hated what I thought was an over-hyped french brand.

It was amazing they all fit inside. I just delivered mine to the dealer the day before in the SUV. If I had to do it in the Vette, I just would had made two trips so my interior wouldn't get scuffed up. I wouldn't want to stare at that forever.

If it rained in your trunk on the way to tire guy you'll have to total loss the car.
