I'm curious as to why you guys chose the Powerglide? What advantages does it have over the A8? (other than the obvious fact that they are bulletproof for high horsepower drag applications)

For one it's more consistent times, much more reliable for holding huge power/torque, and already proven getting C7's to mid-8's in 1/4. With lots of room to get faster.

Also it has only been done in one other C7 so far. When you start getting into really high levels of speed and power the A8 starts to break.

Yeah, they snap the input shaft and the damn thing breaks so clean it looks like it was cut in a bandsaw

When customers decide to drag race these vehicles on a weekly/monthly basis making well over 1200-1500hp, drive train parts fail. That is over double or even triple the horsepower it came with from General Motors. We chose to go this route so this customer can take his very high HP C7 Corvette to the track, run killer ETs, and still be able to drive it back in the trailer at the end of the day or even drive it back home under its own power. Now nothing in this industry is bullet proof, but we feel with as much as this customer drag races his vehicle this was by far the best option. It may cost a good amount of $ now, but it beats spending thousands and thousands fixing broken transmissions just to end up spending the same or more in the long run. Anyone that drag races knows its never fun when your car keeps breaking at the track.
