Default Hurst Short Theow Heat Air

Installed hurst short throw in 97 c5. When I am driving it now sounds like I hear air coming up underneath. Hear it as you accelerate. It is like air going through tunnel underneath. Installed with gasket and pulled up robber boot like instructions say. I know that pulling up the rubber boot you don’t get a seal around shifter like you did with factory. Anyone experienced this or have a fix.

I had some heat problems like this, it was bad before i swapped out the shifter. the boot did not seal and there is just a lot of heat from the exhaust in the tunnel. Look up the MGW install process and notice where they put the heat shield, that will help a lot. seal the boot nicely at the base and around the shifter base. I never did get it to sit properly with the B&M shifter.
