How do I value a '71 LT 1 garage / survivor find
We want to sell a 1971 350/330 LT-1 vette. Been in family since '73. 44,000 miles
Original paint and interior. War bonnet yellow paint is showing its age. Paint has no luster and some blisters on hood. Drivers side seat and floorboard need to be redone. Passenger side is ok. Major mechanical renovation in 2007 using correct corvette parts. Awesome running car. Where do we start to value this ?

download a free app called Corvette DNA and check off the detailed information to get a price. The few pictures and information you have posted give a starting price of 34K.

guys thank you so much. Sorry I could not provide better pictures or details we are gathering as much info about what is original on the car. When we put an add up we want prospective buyers to know exactly what they are getting for their money. I hope to have better pics soon

Mark,
Do you have any paperwork/documentation for the car? That is really going to help with selling the car...invoice/protecto-plate/owners manual/build sheet...even old registrations. If you can tell this cars story that will go a long way....if you have period photos with the car in it that helps too.
You said it has been in the family for since 1973...don't call this a garage/barn find. Labeling it a survivor might be a stretch...family owned since 1973 is the most accurate description and avoids you coming off as pretentious profit grabbing relatives.

Safety Car
Sell it private as is no problems. I would run with $25,000 cash. Other wise this could be a taxable event selling thru brokers. This is an excellent place to list with pictures of body underneath ,hood open etc Good Luck

If you're listing it for $25k put me first in line!!!! Up here the LT1s start in the $30k range. I think it would go for at least that

Those bubbles in the nose paint usually indicate rivet rust or seperation

Get a good clear picture of the engine stamp pad. Anyone interested in this car is going to want to see that. Its located at the front of the passenger side head.
Having the tank sticker is very good. If the engine, trans, rear are original than I agree with the above posters that 30-35K should be where the car will be at or close to depending on what is still original on the engine. Anyone who is interested will know painting a car will be $10k+. But if it still has most of the original (and expensive to replace) engine components like the carb, alternator, starter, etc than potential buyers will be more willing to spend more money.
best of luck

I will get a picture of engine stamp for sure. Any other stamps I need pictures of ? Should I get pictures of undercarriage ? Having the tank sticker is very good. if you are serious about selling it get it professionally detailed. it may cost $300 to $500 but it will shine very nicely when done.
