I'm very fortunate to own both cars
Love the ZR1 but it won't run with my 720
Weight is hard to overcome and transmission in 720 shifts way faster
But being said with price difference it should

Bet the M5 will beat the ZR1 here, as whoever is driving the ZR1 won't be able to get the power down off the line.
But yeah, nothing is going to touch the 720S.

The challenge with LT4/5 cars on stock tires is putting the power down. The ZR has 20% more torque than the 720. Thats a huge delta for a street tire. And the C7 variants seem to lack effective LC software across the board.
The other challenge is GM hasn’t caught up to the fact that most of their competitors run press tunes. My comment may result in a lot of poo being tossed, but it’s true.
Better make sure the IC sprayer tank on the 2RS is full.

I dont know about that. BMW will beat it to 60 but the ZR1 will be reeling it in imo.
I can pull of 0 to 60 in 3.3 and zero to 100 in under 7 seconds with the top off no issues.... on the non cup 2 rubber... in 90f degree... WIth a passenger AND full tank etc etc.
And a ZR1 has more power and the same traction control system. It's amazing imo that we can pull off acceleration on aging blacktop under those conditions.
the ZTK rubber makes up for the aero drag over the base car. Picture cup2s and non ZTK aero. That's your quickest combo in stock form.
looking forward to seeing the results.

In those conditions a 2018 M5 will hit 60mph in 3.1 seconds and 100mph in 7.1 seconds....so the ZR1 will come storming by at the 1/8th mile big time.

You guys realize they dont actually drag race all of these cars together, right? They simply take the best performance numbers from their various reviews then stage the cars to finish in that order. This whole thing is just a huge marketing gimmick to get clicks and to sell the magazine.

You guys who think Cup 2s are some kind of advantage in a drag race...you're delusional. Cup 2s take 2 laps on a road course just to come up to temp and have max grip. Launching your car on the street, they're worthless when cold and absolutely not helping you. And no, driving them around at street speeds for a while doesn't warm them up sufficiently.

"Motor Trend's World's Greatest Drag Race" has no Ferrari or Hellcat in it?

Hellcat was run a couple of years ago, and 488GTB was run last year (beaten by the special guest P100D).
