Default 427/390 Factory A/C Suspension

My original 1966 unrestored L36 (427/390) with Factory A/C car has a front sway bar measuring 15/16th's (same as F41) - Are the 427 A/C springs the same as F41 springs?

I will say no - but maybe you should post a photo of them from down low underneath. F41 springs are pretty distinctive looking and maybe someone installed them with a bigger sway bar many years ago. Of course you would probably know from the ride.

LICS catalog/website has a good listing of C2 Corvette front springs and their application.

If I recall, standard springs were used for ac, but could/did have a spacer under them for BB cars to increase front height. But check out LICS for additional info.

What specifically is the issue?? General knowledge or are you replacing springs??

Larry

EDIT:

A quick check of LICS Book shows 65-67 BB cars as 12 coils for standard suspension, 10 coils for std suspension with ac, and 7 coils for F40/41 suspension. So my recollection above was incorrect............but I KNOW that a special spacer was used also........maybe just for dealer issues. Nolan has the answer in his C2 Restoration Book.

the spacer was only used on the passinger side spring. Due to the added weight of the A6
