Jack left for Maine at 6 am this morning. Be safe my friend.
Yesterday:
Frank has not been home since his stroke in January, staying in either a hospital or in an assistant living facility. His wife Cathy has been ill as well and hasn't been able to visit Frank in 9 days. Yesterday, Doctors gave us just four precious hours to pick Frank up, take him to his house and return. Once there and with some quick thinking by Jack, he and jdk971 were able to get Frank safely inside his house so he and his wife could sit together. After 30 minuets Jack, jdk971 and I left for lunch leaving the couple together alone in their own home for the first time in nearly 6 months. Our prayers were answered in that we got Frank back to his assistant living facility unharmed as well as the special rental van despite my driving.
Since I cant seem to add some pics below, I will do so later in another post.
Thanks Jack and James aka jdk971.

Live a year in WET, WILD, WONDERFUL WEST (BY GOD) VIRGINIA (had a dirt job in Elenor - seemed to rain every other day - WET). Have to say it was the most beautiful state we have lived in until the leaves come off of the trees in the winter time - lot of junk in them there hills. But, also had to learn to drive left of center on narrow highways per the advice of a truly born West Virginian after I was forced off the edge of the road, with no shoulder, by a coal truck. Kind of a CHICKEN thing.
Somewhere between Huntington and Charleston (around Hurricane, I think) on I-64, there used to be a Greyhound race track. My wife was amazed that they raced Greyhound busses. I almost lost control of the car.
Have a beautify ride.

It was a pretty state when everything was growing, but a bit bleak in the winter. A coal truck threw a lump of coal off the truck and cracked the windshield of my new Z28. Road was bumpy and he was loaded to the top..........and tossing coal everywhere. I went off the road to dodge the debris, but could not get off far enough.

Hope you stopped at the St. Albans WV Moose Lodge. My wife and I used to eat and dance there 4 or 5 nights a week. Great home style cooking for less than a reasonable price. Always had a country band (yea I converted to a Redneck in GA and had to teach my Redneck girl to country dance in WV. If you didn't stop there on the way out, make it a point on the way home. Powershift (Larry) surly had to have stopped there a few times.
PS HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

This is great news Jackie ! Dennis and "Knuckles" Frankie are proud to have you as a friend. Frank The Tank looks pretty good, your visiting the two from the Northeast takes the pressure off of us who planned on visiting from the southwest for no other reason to kick these Ohio Boys and their silver Midyear asses.

Sad news about midyearvette. Thanks Jackfit
Several years ago when Jack did his 48 state tour and came to Columbus, Ohio he stayed at midyearvette's ( Frank ) house and did so again two years later when he returned to visit. Several months ago Frank had a stroke and is now paralyzed on his right side. He will never be able again to drive his sweet silver '66 BB again and now lives in an assistant living facility. Jack got the news while visiting his son in Pittsburgh and decided to return to Columbus to see Frank. Yesterday we along with jdk971 visited Frank and today after renting a special van will take Frank home for a short visit. Anyone wishing to send a card, please do so at:
Frank ( Room # 355 )
