IMSA Road America races question
Anybody known the difference between the IMSA races on Saturday and Sunday? One is longer time duration and that's all I know. Also is anyone going? Taking your C7?

Road America
The race Sunday features the main event which includes the factory Corvettes in the GTLM class.
Been going for years, great track and corral.

Yeah I was even more confused after seeing conflicting posts. So Sunday is the day I want to go then. I have the schedules. It just doesn't tell me the difference between the races. Thanks for the help guys.

C7 of the Year - Unmodified Finalist 2021
C4 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019
You want to see the C7Rs race, then you want to go Sunday at 235pm for the RoadAmerica race.
The other races are series that travel with the WeatherTech Championship. Porsche and Lambo, and the Continental Tire series. The Continental series usually gets tape delayed and shown on TV a week later, its just a minor league.

I've been going to RA since the '70's. I believe it's the site of the first Corral? I know Joe Pike from the early Corvette News days was always there checking out the cars. There are pics from the early '60's showing it when the location was almost across from the start finish line. It was still in that location when I first started attending in '74.
The race weekend schedule won't be out until about a week before the race as they always fine tune things. The GTLM cars definitely run on Sunday.
The Corral is still free and includes tech presentations, a driver autograph session, drawings, and food. (unless something changes for 2018) You sign up and get a wristband for entry along with a backpack, a quart of Mobil1, and some other goodies.

I'm torn between bringing my mountain bike in my SUV and driving my new grand sport. The bike really gets me around the 4 mile track fast. I like to take turns going to all my favorite spots. But it will be cool to park my new grand sport in the corral. I'l have to make a decision. First world problems...

Rent a golf cart-I always do. The best way to get down to Canada Corner and some of the other viewing areas so you can watch the race from several vantage points without all the walking. Costs $330 for the weekend, but worth it to me.

Pretty sure that's my old white 2014 over on the middle/right there.
They have shuttle things that run around the track all day so you really don't need your bike, plus it's cool to be in the corral and the parade lap thing is super cool to do on track with the other corvettes.

Thanks for all the good ideas. I'm convinced now. I have a brand new 2019 Grand Sport and I will bring it. End of story. 😊

What do you mean? Last year I signed up literally 2 minutes before they said to get in your cars. There was a table in the corvette tent.

Really?! I did that too but I thought you had to be there on Saturday to reserve a spot. Last year the guy who organizes our caravan from IL sent our names to the
president of Kettle Moraine Club and got us spots. It did cross my mind to just go and see if I can get on the parade laps this year. Now I think I will! Thanks!

The sign up this year is on Sat same as last year. They have a drivers meeting for the tour at 8am Sunday morning Last year I contacted the President of the Corvette Club and asked if she could make an exception and hold some slots open for us. They did. Maybe there were more slots open so they allowed more sign ins Sunday
