Default ZO6 vs Ferrari 458

So my friend just bought a 2015 Ferrari 458. He tells me that it will easily out handle my 2017 ZO6
Out of curiosity has anyone been on a road course with a 458 and similarly skilled driver, or better yet anyone have both cars. Just want some amo if the discussion comes up again.

Number-wise, the Ferrari can't compete.
However, the driving kinetics of the 458 ME is another thing entirely...
No car I have ever driven wowed me like this Ferrari did.

LOL. "it" will? or him in that car will? I don't know your friend but has he ever been on a road racing track before. If not, you can just laugh.

I went and played with one (458 speciale) at VIR but we kept running into traffic. Very comparable cars but the Corvette does it on more pure grip while the Ferrari has more rotation with the mid-engine layout.

The C7Z was a monster at SpeedVegas, and I LAPPED the 458. Different drivers, but that’s my N=1.

They're literally so far apart they're in different CLASSES, LL3 vs LL4.

He asked about a comparison with similarly skilled driver. So according to the stats if the same driver drove both... the Z06 destroys the 458.

I have both and as you can see my Z06 is my Track Car. Both car handle totally different. IMHO the 458 if more refined and the Z06 is a beast that will eat up everything.
Last week I smoked a 488 Ferrari and GT3 Porsche at M1 Concourse. One of the owners told me it looked like they were standing still on the straightway when I distanced myself from them !

That's interesting. Did the kenitics make you faster?
The numbers suggest you felt better because you where in a slower car. LOL.

I’ve driven a few 458s on track and while they’re a blast in and out of corners, there’s no comparison with the power on the Z06. Depends on what you want to do with the car...

His maintenance bills and depreciation over the next 3 years could pay for a Z06. It’s really hard to justify a volume Ferrari...

Many will say a Miata feels better than much faster cars. I believe it that the 458 drivers better around a track. Maybe not faster.

Also remember that the z06 is on some super sticky sport cup 2 ZPs, while many of other cars on that list are on much inferior tires. Salomondrin did a comparison on YouTube with all cars on the same tires and the z06 got smoked.

Since you haven't driven a 458, I'll leave it to those that actually have.

I have driven both on track quite a bit. Yes, the Z06 is faster on track but the driving experience in the 458 is absolutely glorious. The way it responds to inputs whether from the steering wheel or pedals is so refined and precise.

For pure speed go with the Z06 but for pure driving bliss go with the 458

The lightning lap classes are based on cost.
