Hey Robert,
I sure don't remember an additional plate under the transmission mount. I'll have to go back through my pictures and try to find some prior to removing.

And you don't have the old mount to compare height against.

Pat, I think you've got the wrong shifter. The correct one has a reverse lever with an upside down "L" shape specifically for frame clearance.
Jim
Edit: 3917960 is the Hurst p/n for the shifter in my Grand Sport and it has the "L" shaped reverse lever.
And the install kit I used was 373-8611 but I dimly remember having to hand fabricate the reverse rod, so this is probably NOT the one you want.

I don't remember anything like that in the other thread. I wouldn't expect any less from Jim. Looks like an easy fix.

Here's one of the threads that extensively discussed a similar problem (reverse lever hitting frame starts about post #21):
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...hifters-2.html
As Jim said and shown in Robert's picture, the picture below shows the levers you should have in the main mechanism.
These are the lever numbers shown below:
170 2051
170 2182
170 2350
Naturally, you will need a different reverse rod (and possibly transmission lever (arm)) if you change the reverse lever in the shifter.

I do have the old mount and it's the same height.
Thanks Jim, I'll have to see what I can find now.
