How do I test Head light Motor 1985 C4
When I turn on my lights the left hand light goes up but the right hand head light does not...I hear a click but nothing happens. The head light goes on....though
Any thoughts on how to test what the issue can be ? ll the connections look good.. Ordered a shop manual but in transit..
Thanks, Mike

Step one: With the hood closed and the headlights on, give the headlight door a good hard thump with the heel of your fist!
Step two: If that doesn't work, repeat step one.
Step three: If that doesn't work, open the hood, and with the headlights on, twist the manual control **** on the bottom of the headlight motor. Caution!! The door may open quickly, so don't get your hand in the way of the door!
Report back, and we'll go to step four.

Sorry 65Z01, but I believe this is what you call a "glitch" in the software business: There are no bushings in the '84 headlight motors. Only the '88-'96 headlight motors have these fragile bushings.
Intermittent operation of the '84-'87 headlight motors are an indication of dirty limit switches in the headlight motors. These switches are fairly easy to clean, but the motor needs to be disassembled for access to the switches. Here's a link to the disassembly procedure, but the procedure doesn't show the detail of cleaning the switches. Use a light weight white grease on the motor shaft bearings, such as LubriPlate or CRC StaLube, so the shaft can shift in the bearings to actuate the switches.
