Default 64 wheel studs

Are the wheel studs & lug nuts that hold the knockoff adapter on a 64 something special? Can they be purchased at any auto parts store & if so what would the size be?

Would you like me to change the title of your thread to something related to the subject so people will have a reason to click on it?

what’s so special about 7/16-20 studs that were used on millions of GM cars and truck for decades

and BTW The vendors are just going to sell you the same ones you can buy at a auto parts store only at inflated price

The studs are all the same from the original installation. The nuts are special and you won't find them at NAPA etc.

Really. I would have thought that OEM were likely Dorman and they ARE available at NAPA.

The wheel hub bolts are serrated, with a button-like head; they are not hex. The threadform is 7/16-20, & the lug nut across-flats size is 3/4, not 7/8. The shank length of the hub bolts changed in '65 from 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" ... likely to accommodate disc brake configuration. All material specs would be GM300M which is essentially a 'Grade 8' equivalent. Part numbers are/were as follows:

3775683 for 63-64. 7/16-20 x 1 3/8"
3864028 for 65-66. 7/16-20 x 1 3/4"
3910340 for 67-69. 7/16-20 x 1 3/4"

I think the real KO adapters will fit OK if you still have the shorter, OEM bolts. There are special longer lug nuts for this application. On the other hand, fitting direct-bolt reproduction KOs with shorter '64 OEM studs may be a problem.

The longer version of what I posted is this. If you have the original studs, they work, they fit both the steelies and the KO adapter. Now if you need to replace a stud, they are available lots of FLAPS or Corvette parts suppliers. The nuts are about two times or more in length. I have never seen them other than GM or Corvette aftermarket suppliers. Find them somewhere else, great.

I want to clarify you are talking about the threaded wheel stud and not the five indexing pins that each adapter should have. Vark gave the correct info on the theaded studs and as pop23235 stated the lug nuts are longer as can be seen in this eBay listing https://www.ebay.com/itm/CORVETTE-19...LH_TitleDesc=0

The correct tall lug nuts are Corvette America part #1813 for the 20 piece set. The standard studs are all you need.
