What's the REAL cash value?
NADA... KBB... Auction Sales.... Blah blah blah!
What is the real value of a 2014 Vert 1lt. Yellow with black top and black interior?
14,000 miles. Auto, Chrome wheels and that's about it. Straight forward.
Thx guys!

The "real value" is whatever someone is willing to pay. NADA, KBB etc are just guidelines. Especially when it comes to specialty enthusiast cars. There's too many variables to be able to come up with a specific price that everyone (or anyone) can agree on.

KBB etc are just guidelines, but you can guarantee a buyer is going to stick the book to you when you sell. "Private Party" estimates on KBB are usually pretty close to the mark
If yours is base Stingray convertible, I think you're looking at $42-$43K ish -- retail.

Real cash value? Drive it into a dealer and ask them for a check.
Car is worth 40k plus or minus whatever. There is no car god that establishes absolute value for a car. Depends on many things, including how much effort you are willing to make, both buying and selling.

Yep. That's how I ended up selling my Audi. They made me an offer, I took it on the spot. (I had the car listed privately for ~6 weeks prior with virtually no interest). 2 hours later I walked out with a check.

I think
Doug DeMuro Video; it's tough to give concrete answers to fluid circumstances; even the time of year has an (obvious) effect.....

If a car is valued at $50k on Corvette DNA and its in Excellent or Show condition Vette - I dont care what someone is willing to pay - if they see the car, and its an honest representation of the value and condition on Corvette DNA - you're going to get the price represented on Corvette DNA (of course a few bucks up or down - I agree there are alot of factors). Just because someone may be "willing" to pay $48k...doesn't mean Im selling it for that.
Yes those tools can be considered "guidelines" but I've never started a sale or a purchase of any of my Vettes by saying "lets try to stay within the "guidelines"... In addition, "willing to pay" is a "nonsensical" statement that ONLY fits the situation where a SELLER is asking WAY too much for his car - then you can say...well its only worth what's someone willing to pay - it does not fit the situation of an honest seller asking a fair, decently and honestly priced car...cause that is defined as "VALUE"...not what someone is "willing to pay".

Thanks guys for all the input. I try to buy some value up front. The seller will take $39,500 for the 2014 Vert with 13,500 miles. Clean carfax, services, flawless. Original tires but seem OK for now.

My brother in law just sold his '16 Stingray 1LT Coupe to CarMax with 10k miles for $40k.

Car is 6 years old, 1LT. Out of warranty. I'm offering $35K, tops. I'm not Carmax, and I'm taking ALL the risk on an out of warranty car.
The only thing it has going for has meh, 13K miles - (there's garage queens with less than 5K out there,) it's a convertible, cost $5K, more than the hatchback when new, and that can be less desirable to some people.
Unless I were desperate and stretching cashwise, I'd buy at least a 2015/16 2LT, IN WARRANTY - with less miles - for a few dollars more than their asking price. No warranty? NFW, on a 6 model year old time bomb.
