Default Z06 oil spash from hood scoop

This morning I noticed this squirt of oil from the hood scoop after my short drive to work. it's yellow but doesn't smell like motor oil, most likely it's brake fluid or PS fluid.
I opened the hood and did not see any leaks in the engine bay, around the motor or the CAI. Can someone please tell me where this is coming from?

No idea...but if its brake fluid, it will eat the paint if its not cleaned up quickly and properly.

Pretty hard to get something through that Hood Scoop unless you opened it up. Might just be an outside issue.

As mentioned here, clean it up ASAP.

You could pull the air filter to see if it came from the engine compartment..

Best of luck.. 2k

Thanks guys, I checked the inside of the air filter, no engine oil inside. I thought I needed a catch can, but I only see minor oil on the throttle body.
A reputable person suggested that someone might have spilled soda on my car, which I wish was true, but I can tell the spray mark came from the inside of the bay.
This is also the second time in two months this had happened. The first time was minor and the residue was on the bottom of the front bumper above the splitter.
I'll be putting it on a lift soon, more to follow.

Could it be coolant?

Late post I know, but the culprit was a hood strut that gave out. Easily fixed.

yeah having trying to make that duct operational and a bunch of dremeling later, it would be virtually imposible for anything to come from teh inside and get outside that vent.
the black mesh has alot of it blocked, then behind it, it has like 3 baffles/direction changes air has to make to enter. common on ram air scoops, anti rain baffles.

Don't see how that would come from inside the engine bay. How do you know that it came from inside? It looks like the spray pattern is from the front of the car. My guess is that you were following or met a vehicle that was losing some fluid and you just caught some of it.

Still don't see how fluid from the hood strut would get on the front bumper. It sure didn't come through the hood scoop.
