I'm looking at purchasing a ZR1 with about 10,000 miles on the clock. What are the pros and cons and what should I look for? All comments are welcome.

No cons on a ZR1 IMO, provided it has a clean history.

2009-2011's only had 2 cats, versus the 12/13 cars that had 4...so no need to swap in a new x-pipe. 2010+ has PTM, so again that's good. Stock, or modified? Look at the condition of the CCB rotors...make sure the edges aren't chipped/cracked....signs of improper wheel mount/dismount procedures. Check out the condition of the splitter and side skirts, as those can sometimes take a beating. Check the rockers underneath the car. Run the CarFax, and perhaps a GMVIS to get the history.

The leather dash on the 3ZR is known to start peeling up if it sits in the heat too long, so take a look at the dash around the base of the windshield.

Good choice I think. Slightly modified headrests that year and the USB port was added and still single cats. Make certain of no vibration issues in the steering wheel also. Most likely not but its a real PIA if it has it.
You wont regret it. They're great cars !!!

Headrest change didn't come until 2012. Might want to check the date codes on the tires. With only 10,000 miles they should still be original, but at end of life being 7-8 years old regardless of the remaining tread.

Lots of good info provided already and all of the general used car purchase pointers apply (signs of abuse, carfax, modifications, etc).

Specifically for a ZR1 (applies to C6 Z07-optioned cars too as far as I know), I'd stress the CCB vibration issue. I purchased my one-owner 2011 with ~6k miles site-unseen so did not get an opportunity to test drive it first and I did end up with the vibration issue stemming from the original front rotors. They are a costly replacement so if you have the opportunity to drive the car at speed (the 75mph range is usually when it'll show itself) I would highly recommend doing so. If nothing else you'll know what you're up against. Note that this issue is not specific to the 2011 MY.

I'll also echo the tire comment. Mine came with the original PS2 tires (2010 date stamp) so I replaced with new PSS tires. There is a very limited selection of tires in the stock sizes so be sure to factor that in as well.

As noted above, the carbon fiber parts (splitter, side skirts, hood, roof panel) are expensive to repair/replace so inspect those carefully.

Only other little things I can think of:
There is a potential issue with the fan connector melting that some folks have experienced (I checked mine once I got the car and it looked fine - there's currently a thread on this Z06/ZR1 forum with more info). For 2011 you'll need the TPMS tool if you change/replace sensors. They redesigned the seats for 2012, but the difference is minimal and there are kits to update to the new design if its a big deal.

I just bought a 2013 ZR1 that was one owner, unmodified and unmolested and hands down it is absolutely the best car I've ever owned. And this is coming from a guy who also had both a 2006 and 2015 Z06 as well as a 9 second 2007 C6 race car.

Dash peel for me to but no supercharger rattle . 13' 60th Anniversary Edition I got 12/2013. 18k miles with no other issues but the dash.

I agree with all of the above advice. If the car checks-out, buy it !
