Default LT4 roller rocker recall

I'm curious and wondering if the recall was done on my 96 CE LT4? The car has 70k and was built on April 1996 and the vin is 1G1YY2252T5116039. I called a few dealerships and they told me they can't see any history past 2005, the car is to old, and they don't see any open recalls.

The advisor said the roller rocker recall could of been done earlier before 2005 but not sure. Is there anyway I can find out for sure if the recall has been done?

Is it just the earlier models that had the recall?

It went by VIN...

First recall (recall number 96-C-07):
- Regular production VINs: 5100052 through 5102717
- Grand Sport VINs 5600013 through 5600055

Second recall (recall number 96-C-07A) updated the VIN range...
- Regular production VINs: 5100052 thru 5111116
- Grand Sport VINs: 5600012 thru 5600363

You're well outside the VIN range.

Its virtually certain your rocker arms would have failed by now had the recall not been done. There will be a sticker under the hood somewhere that the tech filled out at the time the recall was performed. It could be anywhere, but it will be in plain sight. Only the lt4 cars were effected.

I could not find info at the dealer either.

My LT4 is in the recall range and I don't know if anything was done or not.

I currently do not have any problems so I suspect that the recall fix was done, but it would be nice to know.

It sounds like yours is not in the recall range, so you are the lucky one who can just enjoy your LT4.

Have fun.

If in a 'recall' information should be available. I ran a couple very generic LT4 VIN s that I created through some online VIN checks and both showed 'potential' *RECALL - if it were done then there wouldn't be anything that the dealer could see BUT if NOT done it should still show as 'ACTIVE' and NOT PERFORMED.. Mid/late '90s vehicle data base and information somewhat unusual.

I posted the recall info in this thread https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...597621772...at least what I see the recall is suppose to be done regardless of age or mileage so that tells me dealers still need to perform it at no charge. Personally I'd probably call GM directly and ask if the recall was done if you're within the VIN ranges, they would definitely have records.
