Katech Street Attack Z06 SN# 105
This 2007 z06 came in for the Katech Stage 2 head/cam package with bronze guide repair. During the process, we found worn cam bearings and evidence of debris throughout the engine. We rebuilt the engine to our Street Attack package specs with rebushed LS7 rods and forged pistons. We also equipped the vehicle with Katech valve covers, coil relocation kit, and Katech belt tensioner. Additionally, there is a Halltech Systems MF103 air intake system.
When the car came in and we diagnosed it, we saw the transmission was leaking, we sent the car to our technical partner Rpm Transmissions for leak repair - they also found bad synchros along with a few other issues, resulting in a rebuilt transmission.

Hey Jason.....can you comment on early LS7 rods, and what needs to be done to them on high mileage cars ? Do you refinish/ recoat them when you rebush them for a rebuild ?

We don't offer any kind of re-coating or refinishing service. You'll want to inspect the condition of the coating, particularly on the cheek surface before rebushing.

We do offer a rebushing service for the small end of the rod. It's a solid, high-modulus bronze bushing that is better at handling compression loads. The factory bushing split.

Yes, or some nice used ones. I just had a customer send in two sets and out of those 16 rods only 7 were usable. They were clearly from a blow up and had galling and coating removal.
