Choke heat tube with Edel 2101 manifold
I have my new Edelbrock 2101 manifold installed and tried to install the heat tube. No go. I did a little search and sounds like this has always been a problem. I know they make the older style lever and link replacement, but I wanted to keep the correct one that came with the car. Has anyone found a replacement that fits?

With stock heads, other than the EGR option on the 3701 I don't see why it doesn't install. Does the manifold gasket have the cutout for the heat tube?

Your manifold looks different. Mine looks to have the passage going underneath the carb where yours goes into the exhaust crossover passage. My manifold does not have that passage, it is solid between the 2 center bolt holes. Am I looking at this wrong?

Go to Summit link and review the photos for the 2101.

Since you've already swapped-out the intake manifold, keeping that divorced-choke (when the intake is not designed for it) is a faulty strategy. Just buy an electric choke for $25 and be done with it. The electric version is not "stock", but it looks about the same and is MUCH more reliable.

What I did was cut off the existing steel pipes leaving behind the connectors.
then drilled out the connectors to receive copper tubing, 5/16” iirc.
shaped my copper tubing to fit the 2101 intake . Soldered in the copper tubing and installed. Works great. The copper picks up heat more readily so it doesn’t need as much tubing as the steel.
my choke is removed but still employ the idle kick for cold running, once the engine heats up the idle kick is removed via the choke mechanism.

It won't....at least, not in a timely fashion. After the whole intake gets up to temp, the [mechanical] choke may finally drop out.

solder does not melt at the relatively low temperatures of the intake manifold.
used regular Rosin core electrical solder. I imagine any kind would work. Takes a propane torch to get it hot enough. Like sweating a plumbing connection.

mine does not have the crossover either. It just gets the heat from the manifold itself. Probably would not work in the winter as well without crossover but works fine for everything down to 45 degrees so far.
