Amazon Echo Dot
I got mine in the mail today and got it hooked up to the C7. I'm trying to figure out the best place to mount this sucker. I tried to hide it behind the nav screen, but after 30 minutes the Echo got pretty warm so I'm not sure that's the best place to shove it. The cupholders don't have a big enough diameter for me to drop it in even if I moved the separator. I can put use the power port under the middle armrest and have it snake out the front and have it sit on the front edge of the armrest, but surely someone's got a more creative solution.
Maybe stick it to the back of my seat?

Why not just use Android Auto? Just say OK Google, and it’ll do whatever Alexa can do. It’s already built into the Infotainment system. Download Android Auto onto your phone, plug it into the USB port, and there you go!

I could, but then I'd have a wire management nightmare. I have to draw power from a USB port. For the time being I just shoved it into the cubby hole behind the nav screen. Amazon seems pretty intent on making these things a commercial success so if heat kills the damned thing I'm sure I'll get another one for free.
OK Google doesn't work well with the top off and the music up. I tested a friend's Echo first and it worked with how I drive (like I stole it).

You can also get a ROAV VIVA. See: https://www.anker.com/store/roav-viva/R5141113

I've got that thing in my wishlist and just been waiting for it to go on sale. Even having the Dot in my room for a couple hours last night I got accustomed to being able to control stuff around the house via voice so once I get the VIVA for a good price the Dot would just go back to the master bedroom.

I just tried to stick it to the back of the driver's seat headrest so it's somewhat hidden and the wire can be tucked, but my damned dog in the hatch tried to eat it so... back in the cubby hole.

That Echo thing is great at home. I control lighting, thermostats (no need to climb to get to the one upstairs), alarm clock, fire TV, etc. etc. Forgive my ignorance on this but what is Echo used for in a car? Stock quotes maybe?

You might want to look into the Garmin Speak - which includes Alexa (and a dash cam).
