Service Tire Monitor System

Service Tire Monitor System
While driving my C5 earlier, a warning came on saying "Service Tire Monitor System." I let the car sit for several hours but as soon as I started the car the message came on again.
Is there anything I can check or is it time to take it to the tire/repair shop?

Hopefully, you have a fairly accurate tire gauge. So first, check your air pressures. If they're OK, and you're unsure how old your TPMS sensors are, you might have a situation where some "hiccup" occurred, and they simply lost communication with the car's receiver. You could start by doing the "relearn" process, with your current sensors. If that doesn't work, and/or you know that the sensors are in the 10 year old range, or older, you might have to consider replacing them.

If this helps my right rear showed the XXX pressure with the Service message this morning I cleared the codes while driving in. Afternoon the same - driving home XXX came on - once again cleared codes. Then all of sudden later driving again pressure showed on DIC for that tire. I was ready to do the magnet training once arrived home.🤷🏻♂️

mine did the same thing in an 02. The solution was to replace the sensors. I could get one to relearn temporarily but it would xxx out. Replaced them and no problem. Highly recommend the schraders. However make sure you get some that are compatible with your year. Sub 2000 are different
