Love my M7 C7, but I am starting to have issues with my left leg.
How hard would it be to convert a M7 to auto?

Sounds like youre waiting to hear a specific answer from what I've seen in the comments so here you go.... All you gotta do is pull one out and bolt the other right up. Swap a few interrior parts and there you go, its in the car. Piece of cake

The only sane answer is trade it in and get an auto. Depending on the condition of your car you might even make a few bucks or break even, rather than spending mucho dollars and doing an arduous task

Pretty much agree with the other comments. You will destroy resale, so trade into an A8 and maybe add/delete other items based on what you want.

I remember reading on another forum a while back that someone had Lingenfelter perform this conversion on a C6Z. The car never ran right. It’s a lot more complicated than just swapping out the tranny, differential, and controllers... Your biggest hurdles will be the electronics and programming... but most anything is possible if you have the knowhow, fortitude, and cash- emphasis on the latter.
Trading it in on an A8 would be the easier and cheaper route, but if you decide to take on this endeavor, then start a build thread. GL.

Give RPM transmission in here a vendor, they have done a ton of c5 & c6 cant say on a c7, But cost of it from all the computers chg out will cost. But it can be done shouldn't be to bad. call & talk with Todd at the shop....Robert

Agree with the "trade it in" consensus, as the C7 is so immersed in computerized control units you'll likely spend a TON of money swapping them out before you even get to installing the A8...

Well I was curious to get the answer on this, so I called RPM. Sadly they said the same, no go on installing an A8 in a C7, and stated the same, sell the stick car & buy an auto..

If you want to do something complicated for fun, at least do something that gives you a unique vehicle in the end, not something you can just buy off the lot.

Way more trouble than it's worth. Sell outright and get the auto of your choice. M7 is fairly rare so you shouldn't have a problem finding a buyer.

The reason I would rather convert it is that training it in I would loose around 20K.
Converting it wouldn't cost anything near that.
If I trade it in would have to be for a ZR1.
That is 140K.

After you factor in the decreased value after such a conversion, it would cost way more than $20k. When a professional shop says it can’t be done, it can’t be done - especially by a do-it-yourselfer at home.

I know RPM did a lot of c5 & c6 cars if they tell you to trade it in do that r keep it a stick car. All of this new elec crap getting harder & harder to do stuff.
