Going to buy a c6
Going to look at buying my first c6 tomorrow. I am not a complete novice to cars, but I am a ford guy and dont really know what to look for as red flags on this 2006 c6, 78K miles. Its 2 owners with no wrecks on the car fax. 5 speed, leather.
any advice welcomed.

I'm moving this over to C6 General where you will get some good advice on what to look for in a C6. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

The 2006 C6 has either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. If it's the automatic, it also has paddle shifters with the paddles mounted on the steering wheel. Use them when the tranny is in the SPORT mode, with "S" on the gear selector.

My old 05 has every option except NAV and is not Z51.

With 78k miles on the clock, don't expect a perfect car. Look at the overall condition of the car... Is the body/paint in good condition? What about the interior, especially the seat covers. Is the engine compartment in reasonably clean condition? Are there any service records that come with the car? Does the car drive straight with no odd squeaks or rattles? Are the tires in good condition? Ask yourself these questions as you look at the car. Good luck!!

If it is a private seller, with that mileage, I would expect to get it for very close to $15K. At that, and if in very good condition, it would be a bargain, and well worth the money. On a 12-year-old car, you can usually tell if it has been taken care of by the appearance, and what repairs it may need. People who take good care of their Vettes don't let them deteriorate, or go unrepaired for long.
Motor Trend again shows why it's reputation has dropped terribly. I have never seen them to be even remotely close on prices. Just FYI, '05 to '07 Vettes are getting quite close to the bottom of the pricing cycle. Except for seasonal fluctuations, I don't think you'll ever see a nice '06 going for less than $14K, or so, even in 3 or 4 more years. Currently, C5's are priced that much, or higher.

That car in Utah would sell in the 17,000 to 22,,000 range depending on options and condition and private vs dealership. Not a lot of corvettes to choose from in Utah.

You are right about that. Both times when I was searching for a Vette, I could not find anything in Utah. Once in awhile, someone living in St. George will advertise their car in LV, but that was rare. The car the OP posted would also be expensive in OR and WA.

OK guys, the car ended up being sold. They had another c6 on the lot but I could tell it had been hit on the front side, also looked ruff on the edges. So I drove around some more and ended up pulling in to the Local Chevy dealer and they had a Red 2005 c6 with 62K miles, Bose SS, Targa top, black leather, black wheels, new tires, manual trans and it was MINT. 20K sticker.
we haggled a little and I got them to come down to what I wanted a month and got close to what I wanted on my trade in ( 2008 Eclipse SE, would been hard to sell in this area)
So I ended up getting it. and I also got the 3yr Warranty thing A+ Enhanced. They also gave me a cool hat ! So this wont be my daily so the manual doesn't bother me that bad but I've not driven one in 5 years.

from what I read in my warranty contract there seems to be no reason I cant put aftermarket exhaust on this thing. Anyone else have that warranty? Alpha Warranty Services.

you should be able to, but call them to be sure, and get the name of the person who tells you it is okay. Also, get them to define what aftermarket exhaust is. Are you talking about long-tube headers, a cat-back system, or the original Z06 system? You have to know the guidelines.
Congrats...you will enjoy it.

Congrats on the car, looks great, and good job on the manual too #savethemanuals It's nice to see the "new" tires are actually new tires too with a 2017 manufacture date.
The car has aftermarket wheels on it, so whatever problem would be posed by the exhaust would also be in place with the wheels. It's likely something where the warranty may not cover the exhaust, but if you're buying a new exhaust, many of the reputable brands have limited lifetime warranty.
