'68 to '69+ Door handle/latch swap
The button press required to open the door on the 1968 is a PITA.
Anyone know what parts etc. is required to change it over to operation like on the 1969's and later - just push the handle down without having to first depress the button?
I get tired of having to constantly open the door for passengers unable to open it on their own.
I like my women a little on the trashy side and a door latch that keeps the riff-raff out is cutting into my action...
Thanks
Wade

Melting Slicks
A different door latch, handle, key lock and retainers, linkage rods, plus elimination of the recess in the door for the newer key lock. Just change the doors out, you should be able to sell the 6t8 doors for the same as purchasing 69 doors. T

cleaning all the old grease and crap out of them and liberally lubing them make it alot easier to open. You could just open the door for them and you would look like a gentleman, even though you were just trying to avoid the whole door openning debacle.
Now lets discuss your door issue. The same could be said for the door latch mechanism. Mine was very hard to depress until I pulled them apart and cleaned them.
