Default Steering Wheel upgrades, what have you done???

When I had my C5 I had RedLine Goods modify it to a flat bottom and re-wrap, I absolutely loved it!!

I'm thinking of having my C6 wheel re-wrapped. What have you done to yours??

I bought one on Ebay.

It took nearly forever to make it and I'm still waiting on the air bag cover. By the quality is outstanding.

I've had two: the first was DSVettes, and forum vendor, VetteCandy is now handling that biz. The other was by Mike at Mike's Custom Steering, MCS, His were much more sculpted with bigger grips, more of an articulated flat bottom, etc. Both wheels were excellent, but I favored the MCS wheel.

For those that pulled their old wheels off, I've seen a couple YT videos where you can wiggle it right off??

Coming from a C5 there were numerous horror stories on how hard they were to remove. Several resorted to drilling and tapping. Mine took the correct puller, PB Blaster and plenty patience.

The same guy who made the wheel. That's why it's taking forever.

He's just wrapping the air bag cover in perforated leather to match the wheel. I have no idea how that can take five months.

This is pretty much the only pic I have of the SW. I know it's not head on but close enough. I purchased it from DS Vettes on a group buy around 3 or 4 years ago.

I did DSV eons ago in Alcantra and is great in Texas Heat, May not look as good as Carbon Fiber ones, but works great for me.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SoCal Garage Works!!!

I attempted to purchase a steering wheel from SoCal Garage Works Sept 2017 and finally received the wheel just prior to Christmas 2017. When I went to install the wheel several weeks later I realized they had sent me the wrong wheel for my 2012 GS CE 6M. I had even provided a photo of the wheel I needed. I immediately contacted them about their mistake, for which they apologized for claiming it must have been mislabeled. I returned the wrong wheel and then again waited months and months! I finally gave up a couple of weeks ago and asked for my money back after almost 11 months, Their check finally cleared with PayPal and have placed an order with Apsis for my new wheel, as I don't care for the alcantara wheel that came with my Vette. Hopefully I should have my new wheel in 4 weeks!

Prior to sending the wrong wheel back to SoCal Garage works for the correct one, I contacted PayPal to make sure they would have my back in case of a dispute with them. The PayPal agent I talked with checked with her supervisor and assured me they would have my back even tho it was approaching their 180 day protection limit. Based on their supposed support, I sent the wheel back. A few weeks ago I attempted to file a PayPal dispute against SoCal Garage Works to get my money back. PayPal could not and would not support me and my dispute/claim because the original purchase had exceeded 180 days . I was told to contact my bank, but their support for such claims is 45 days. I reached out to Greg at SoCal Garage Works and after some time, I unbelievably finally received my refund.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SoCal Garage Works!!! They are terrible communicators, the worst!
